Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. With an average life expectancy of just 2 to 5 years from diagnosis, ALS is a relentless adversary that can strike anyone, and currently, there is no known cause or cure.

This cause is deeply personal for me. I lost my great uncle Bill and my best friend’s dad, Todd, to this horrible disease. Seeing their struggles and the profound impact ALS had on our lives has driven me to fight for a future where no one has to endure this kind of suffering. Their bravery in facing ALS inspires me to walk with purpose and determination.

I am walking to change the statistics, to bring hope and support to those living with ALS, and to aid the caregivers who stand by their loved ones. My goal is to ensure that no one else has to hear the words: “You have ALS.”

While recent years have brought incredible advancements in ALS research, expanded care, and supportive legislation, we must keep pushing forward. The key to a cure starts with all of us.
