It has been quite a year and now it is time to assemble our team for the annual walk!

Honestly, we can't believe it has been almost a year already since we lost our beloved fighter, hero, mom, wife, and friend, Cathy.  One of her wishes was for us to continue to fight against this nasty disease, and part of that mission is participating in the ALS-Arizona Chapter Walk. 

As most of you know, Cathy's battle with ALS lasted a grueling 5+ years where she challenged it head on!  She fought every step of the way whether she was just trying to live life to the fullest, day by day, or she was participating in trials with her medical team to help find a cure or identify cells that might help slow the progression for others. If it wasn't for the incredible support of not only family and friends but the ALS Association of Arizona, I can't imagine how much more difficult things could have been for her.

In October 2023, Cathy chose to take matters into her own hands and chose to do Death with Dignity.

NO ONE SHOULD EVER HAVE TO CHOOSE DEATH WITH DIGNITY!

With that being said, that is why this walk is so important. That is why your support is important, that is why our voices to be heard is so important, and amongst all of it, that is why the ALS Association of Arizona is so incredibly important!

Thank you for donating and helping me reach my ALS Walk fundraising goal! The Walk to End ALS raises funds to support those affected by ALS and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure. 

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure. 

That’s why I’m walking. To change the statistics. To bring help and hope to those living with the disease. To support the caregivers who help their loved one fight this disease.  To ensure that no one ever hears the words: “You Have ALS” again!
