Welcome to My Personal Page
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generous donation and for helping me reach my ALS Walk fundraising goal. Your support means more than words can express.
The Walk to End ALS raises critical funds to support individuals and families affected by ALS while advancing research toward effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure. It also helps raise awareness of a disease that continues to devastate countless lives.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive and fatal neuromuscular disease that gradually takes away a person's ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. Most people diagnosed with ALS are given an average life expectancy of just 2 to 5 years, and currently there is no known cause or cure.
For me, this mission is deeply personal.
As many of you know, my beloved husband, Andrew, passed away last year from this cruel disease. I was his sole caregiver, and I witnessed firsthand what ALS does to a person and to a family. It is impossible to describe the heartbreak of watching someone you love slowly lose physical abilities while their mind remains fully aware of everything happening around them.
From the day Andrew was diagnosed to the day he passed away was only 367 days. Although his body became weak and immobile, his spirit, intelligence, and determination never faded. ALS took so much from him, but it never took who he was.
I miss Andrew every single day.
That is why I walk. I walk in his memory and in honor of every person and family facing this disease. I walk to bring hope to those living with ALS, support to caregivers who stand beside their loved ones through unimaginable challenges, and funding for the research that will one day end this disease.
My hope is that someday no one will ever have to hear the words, "You have ALS" again.
Thank you for helping make that future possible. Your kindness, generosity, and support keep Andrew's memory alive and bring hope to families who are still fighting this battle.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Elena Henry
