Thanks for being here!
On November 7, I’ll be taking part in the Walk to End ALS, and I would love for my friends and family to join me—by walking alongside me in person, participating virtually from wherever you are, or donating whatever you can.
ALS has changed many parts of my everyday life, but it has not changed who I am or taken away my hope. I am still a traveler, a community builder, and someone who believes deeply in the power of people coming together. I remain hopeful that healing is possible, and I am choosing to meet this chapter by being a light in the darkness—for myself, for the people I love, and for others facing ALS. I want my story to carry more than fear. I want it to carry courage, connection, and the belief that even during the hardest moments, there is still room for joy and hope.
ALS is a progressive disease that gradually affects a person’s ability to move, speak, swallow, and breathe. There is currently no cure, but science and technology are advancing rapidly. Researchers are developing new ways to understand ALS, identify its causes, and create more precise treatments. The breakthrough we are waiting for—even a cure—could be closer than we realize.
But progress needs momentum. Greater awareness brings more attention, researchers, resources, and urgency to this fight, while increased funding gives promising discoveries the opportunity to become real treatments.
That is why I’m participating in this walk: to help create that momentum and support every individual and family living with ALS. Every person who walks, donates, or shares this page becomes part of that effort. No contribution is too small, and every show of support reminds us that we are not facing this disease alone.
Thank you for standing—and walking—with me. Together, we can bring more light, more hope, and more urgency to the fight to end ALS.
