Hi, I’m Jorge de Cardenas, and at just 29 years old, I was recently diagnosed with ALS.

On November 7th, I’ll be participating in the ALS Walk alongside my family, friends, and community. This walk means something completely different to me now. ALS is no longer just a disease I’ve heard about — it’s something I’m facing personally.

Since my diagnosis, I’ve decided that I want to use my journey to bring more awareness to ALS, support others fighting this disease, and help raise money toward a future where no one has to hear the words “You have ALS.”

My fundraising goal for the walk is $10,000, and every donation — no matter the amount — helps us get closer.

I’ve also started GamingWithALS, my Twitch channel, where I stream, share my journey, build a community, and bring more attention to the fight against ALS.

I know this journey won’t always be easy, but I plan to keep doing the things I love, keep fighting, and make as much of an impact as I can along the way.

ABOUT ALS  

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
