Why We Walk To Defeat ALS

Donate Now

When my father in law was diagnosed in1990 with ALS I never heard of the disease before. I had no idea what was about to happen to our family at the time. But my father in-law Bernard Rainbow knew exactly what this disease was, because he lost his mother & sister to ALS before him!  We only had a short time with him after his diagnosis but that is what ALS does!

Even though it has been 34 years since he passed it still feels like yesterday to us. And to all the other families out there going through this it feels the same. Most patients who are diagnosed with ALS pass within 2 -5 years of diagnosis. But ALS Arizona is fighting to change that with your support.

The ALS Arizona does more than just raise funds to fight this disease, they provide many services to patients and their families such as Medical Equipment, Respiratory Consultants, Transportation, Respite Care Programs, Support Groups, Children's Programs and so much more.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.

On Saturday October 24th at High Corbet Field, we are walking to change these statistics. Help us help  those living with ALS by donating to our walk page to give support to the caregivers and families fighting this traumatic and deadly disease.

The past years have brought some advancements in ALS research, it expanded access to care for people living with ALS, and enabled legislation that impacts the quality of life of people with ALS and their families.

But it is not enough !!!

We can’t stop now! The key to a cure starts with all of US. Please consider making a donation to my team. With your help, we will be able to make a difference in the lives of people affected by this disease.
