TEAM LEAH
LET'S WALK FOR TEAM LEAH!
It’s that time of year again! TEAM LEAH is gearing up for the annual Walk to Defeat ALS at the Tucson Auto Museum, 4825 N. Sabino Canyon Rd Tucson, AZ 85750
It has been 10 years since we lost our beautiful Leah Bardin to ALS at just 43 years old. Leah had a larger-than-life personality, an infectious smile, laugh and an incredible love of life. She loved dancing, being outdoors, and loved her family and countless wonderful friends. She was a Wife, Daughter, Sister, Sister-in-Law, Auntie and Special friend to so many… but above everything else, she was a Mommy. When Leah passed away, her precious children Joseph was just 5 years old and Savannah, only 2.
Leah fought ALS for 18 months after her diagnosis, and on June 30, 2016, surrounded by her loving family and friends, Leah’s beautiful spirit was finally released from suffering and is dancing in a peaceful place now. Nothing can fill the empty spot that lies deep within our hearts for her.
Why We Still Walk
Every 90 minutes someone is diagnosed with ALS – it robs a person of the ability to walk, speak, eat, and eventually breathe. And what’s even worse is that right now, there is no cure.
We walk for every family and caretaker who has heard—or will hear—the devastating words “You have ALS.” We walk to raise awareness, help provide resources and support to people living with ALS and their families, and most importantly, to keep fighting for effective treatments and ultimately a cure to bring this devasting disease to an end.
Please consider walking with us and/or making a donation to our team. Even the smallest donation can help bring this tragic disease to a world without ALS.
Even though I have not heard Leah’s voice in years, my heart has conversations with her every day… I told her you will fight for her too! :) Please, help us to keep fighting. Your support means so much to everyone suffering from this terrible disease.
Thank you for helping us to make our fundraising goal! We are grateful for your support!
LET’S BRING THIS HORRIBLE DISEASE
ONE STEP CLOSER TO A WORLD WITHOUT ALS!
