Welcome to our 2023 Walk Page
Thank you for taking the time to visit our page. As many of you know we lost my mom a little over 10 years ago to ALS. Watching someone you love deal with the physical and emotional toll of an ALS diagnosis and the progression of the disease is something that I would not wish on anyone. My mom was an amazing mom, grandmother, teacher, coach and friend. She fought as hard as she could against a disease that is 100% fatal and that currently has no effective treatment. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis and care for those diagnosed is over $250,000 per year. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.
That's why we have committed to ALS Arizona and to the Walk. No one should have to face this disease alone and we have to find a treatment and eventual cure to prevent this disease from claiming the lives of such amazing people. That's where ALS Arizona comes in, from counseling, speech and mobility equipment, even just having a shoulder to lean on.
So come on out and enjoy the Walk with us and help us make sure that no more families have to deal with ALS in the future.
Thank you again,
Brett, CC, Taylor, Carter, and Hudson
